The Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) has announced that it is purchasing two Airbus passenger planes from Germany at the cost of $86 million.
The Bank’s Chairman, Mrs. Hamdiya al-Jaff, told NINA that the planes, each capable of carrying 200 passengers, were made in 2009 and have not been put into service since they were manufactured.
She said the planes will be available for airlines to rent to enable them to increase capacity during the seasons of Hajj and minor pilgrimage to Mecca.
