Iraq’s Ministry of Oil has announced that oil exports for September rose to 2.6 million barrels per day, at an average price of $107 per barrel, bringing in revenues of 8.4 billion dollars over the 30-days month. Platts used a more precise figure of 2.598 million bpd.
This compares to 2.564 million bpd in August, which brought in 8.445 billion dollars over 31 days.
The spokesman for the oil ministry, Mr. Assim Jihad, broke this down as 2.180 million bpd from Basra and 410,000 bpd from Karkuk, with 10,000 bpd exported by truck to Jordan.
Platts reports that this breaches the 2.5 million bpd level for the fourth month running, and marks the highest export level in over three decades.
