Iraq participates in the joint Spring Meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, which began Friday in the U.S. capital Washington and continue for three days.
He said Finance Minister Rafie al-Issawi, who heads the Iraqi delegation that Iraq is seeking to benefit from the experiences of the World Bank in the rehabilitation of infrastructure in all areas.
He told reporters on the sidelines of the bank on Friday that a joint committee of the World Bank will visit Iraq soon to discuss ways of cooperation between the two sides and help Iraq to develop an economic policy within the plan of cooperation will last for three years.
The al-Issawi said that he made for meetings with U.S. officials in the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Treasury, also met with officials of the Federal Reserve in New York to discuss the possibility of issuing a presidential decree to protect Iraqi funds deposited in U.S. banks for another year
